Start with a measurement you understand
Apple’s data-usage instructions describe viewing app and system usage, resetting statistics, and checking the selected data number with Dual SIM. A phone counter’s reporting period matters: an old total is not automatically one day’s use. For Android, use the data-usage controls documented for your exact device.
Our recommended preparation is to observe several representative days. Note the measurement dates, mobile data used and activities. Also note whether Wi-Fi handled most of your downloads; that baseline may underestimate a day spent away from a hotel.
Build a transparent estimate
Use this worksheet rather than a fixed allowance advertised for everyone:
| Input | Your note |
|---|---|
| Typical daily mobile use | A measured amount and its date range |
| Travel days | All days needing mobile connectivity |
| Changed activities | Navigation, video calls, uploads or work |
| Shared devices | Laptop or another phone using a hotspot |
| Offline preparation | What you can download before leaving |
| Buffer | An explicitly chosen additional allowance |
For illustration only, suppose your measured use is 0.4 GB per day. Seven days gives 2.8 GB; a separately chosen 1 GB buffer gives 3.8 GB. These inputs are hypothetical. They do not establish how much data maps, video or Yesim will use for you.
Match the estimate to a real plan
Yesim’s buying instructions describe choosing an allowance and duration, with unlimited options in some destinations and additional data available through its purchase flows. Inspect the current plan screen for the options and prices available to your account.
Compare the estimate with plan coverage and validity. For intensive laptop use, read the hotspot and unlimited-plan conditions rather than assuming “unlimited” promises unrestricted speed.
Review usage during the trip
Our practical recommendation is to compare your remaining allowance and validity each day, especially after sharing data. Keep enough time to resolve a top-up or a different plan before relying on it for an important connection.
Once the allowance fits, read the Yesim promo-code record and compare the eligible checkout price. The discount percentage does not determine the data size you need.
Sources & evidence notes
This guide adapts Promo Zealot’s original material. Its source-review date is October 11, 2026. Historical coverage-dialog observations belong to Promo Zealot; Yesim Guide has not repeated those dialogs or performed a network test.
For general documentation checked on October 26, 2026, read the separate official-source review. That review does not refresh the historical coverage or coupon evidence.
